Halle’s medieval prosperity was
partly due to the numerous pilgrims
who came here to venerate a statue of the Virgin Mary which was given to St. Martin’s Church in 1267.
To the west of Halle
stretches the “Pajottenland” it is a beautiful
countryside with large fields,
big farms and narrow winding roads along which it is a pleasure to cycle.
Here and there you will come across the famous Brabant Carthorse.
A visit to Halle
can be pleasantly rounded off with an outing in the immediate neighbourhood.
Looking at monuments, walking, cycling,
delicious food and the enjoyment of local specialities,
all this is to be found in and around Halle: come
and get acquainted.
